#1 Reason for Divorce – Money!

You might be wondering why would money be the number one reason for divorce, why wouldn’t it be infidelity?

The reason why is because money troubles involve a third party that can be a constant stress on your relationship.  When a spouse cheats on another the spouse can usually admit to wrong doing and decide to change their life and act right towards their spouse.  But money problems can draw couples apart more than an affair.

I’ll use this example:

If a husband is responsible for bringing in the money to provide for the family if he falls short his wife might fell that he isn’t a good provider.  This can make a lot of stress on the relationship.  The wife especially if she is doing her part by taking care of the household ie children, cooking, cleaning, love making, etc.  She will start to feel as though she is the only one working.

Now don’t get me wrong this isn’t about being rich its about providing the best life for your family to your best abilities.  Don’t base your lifestyle on someone else that might have had different circumstances that enabled them to provide a better lifestyle for their family.  But you do need to provide the best of your abilities.  How can you know if you are?  You’ll know because you’ll know!

If the wife starts to hold back because she feels her husband is not a good provider this is the beginning and an opening for both spouses to cheat either emotionally or physically.  This happens because we as humans hate rejection.  When we are rejected we start to seek out new relationships to make us feel better.

On top of that the debt collectors are constantly calling placing more stress on the relationship.  So what is comes down to is a break down in responsibility of both husband and wife to handle their finances.  Regardless of the level of income the husband is bringing in they couple must figure out a budget and stick to it because if they go outside of that budget they will get into financial trouble.

Financial trouble is very difficult to improve because you can’t just go to your boss and ask for more money.  If you go to get loans to pay off debt which a lot of people do, it just makes the situation worse!

If you want to save your marriage or make sure you don’t run into marriage problems due to money put together a plan and pay down your debt.
